Baking Tips:
1. Make sure to keep your oil at 375 F°.
2. If you like a little spice, add ½ tsp of cayenne pepper to your dry ingredients.
Ingredients
Corn Dog Batter
1 Cup Cornmeal
1 Cup All-Purpose Flour
¼ Cup Sugar
4 Tsp. Baking Powder
¼ Tsp. Salt
½ Tsp. Black Pepper
1 Cup Milk
¼ Cup Club Soda (or carbonated water)
1 (8 piece) package Beef Franks
8 Wooden skewers
4 Cups (1quart) Vegetable Oil for frying
Directions
Combine cornmeal, flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and pepper in a medium bowl; stir in milk, then club soda to make a batter.
Heat oil in a deep fryer or large saucepan to 375 F°. Meanwhile, rinse and pat dry the franks.
Carefully insert skewer into each one, then roll franks in batter until well coated.
Fry 2 or 3 corn dogs at a time in preheated oil; turning occasionally until lightly browned, about 2 - 3 minutes. Drain on paper towels.
